I'm suppose to be hunting a Gihon but they don't show up at all. I'm hunting the family of a Serina F. Gihon/Gehan that married a William Hodges and they lived in Hickory Co., MO until about 1891 and then went to the Cherokee Nation in OK prior to 1897.
Thanks,
Gerald

I have records of a Cyrena Francis Gehon b. 26 Jul 1848, m. Willam A. Hodges. Cyrena is the daughter of Garland W. Gehon, b. 20 Mar 1822, d. 16 Dec. 1861, m. Frances Allard, b. 31 Aug 1829, d. 24 Apr 1905. Cyrena is the sister of my great grandmother, Hester Ann Gehon, b. 24 Sep 1855, d. 1935, m. Nathaniel Wakings, b. 1850, d. 1933

Thanks,
There is probably no dought the Syrena Francis Gehon that you mention is correct.
In the past coupe of months I have finally found part of the descenants of Syrena and William. William was a brother to my great grandfather, Lewis C. Hodges.
The only thing I see different is that I have an old picture of a lady that one of Syrena's descendants sent me and it says her name was Hall. I don't know it was her maiden name or she remarried? And there is no proof it is Syrena's mother, it was passed down. It was taken in Versailles, Morgan Co., MO.
I do known William and Syrena were in Hickory Co., MO on the 1880 census, as was William's parents. In 1898 they were in Cherokee Indian Nation Oklahoma. And on the 1900 Cesus.
I would love to get more info. and all I can get. None of the descendants so far do computer contact and knew very little on their family. Your date of Syrena's birth is the same. I never seen William's middle name, any where.
Would it be possible to contact me at ghodmgil@aol.com I would really like to get more and share anything that I have.
Gerald

Your Garland W. Gehon is possibly the son of George N. Gehon, my ancestor who lived in Dade Co., MO. I have a lot of new info on the Gehon family I would be happy to share.

Are you the one I just sent the e-mail to? Yes, his father was George and mother Elizabet Woolf.
