Robert Geggie b. 23 Dec 1787 d. 21 April 1870 in Kelso, son of Thomas Geggie and Jane Paterson is the earliest family member that I have location and dates for. Family notes say that Thomas was the son of Robert Geggie and Jessie Cockburn (no dates/places available).
Robert (b 1787) had two siblings: Jean b. 6 March 1790) and John (b.12 Mar 1792)
Robert had three sons; Thomas, John & Robert and 2 daughters Janie & Annie. Thomas stayed in Scotland in the Berwickshire area. Robert, the son, went to Nova Scotia and finally, St. Louis, Missouri.
Thomas had 9 sons and one daughter. Two sons, William and James went to Missouri and Illinois, respectively, to operate and inherit property owned by their Uncle Robert. Another son Andrew, became a Presbyterian minister in Toronto, Canada. I have extensive information & photos of these families....would love to figure if they relate to yours. jemcmd

re message 7.2.07 re above subject, I am also researching Geggie family from Scotland and think there are some inconsistencies in the above mentioned message. Would like to make contact to discuss in more detail and exchange information.

Hi, I know it's been a few years since you posted this, but I just started looking for the Geggie side of my family. My grandpa is Robert Geggie. He is the son of Robert Geggie that moved to Coulterville, IL and cousin to a Robert Geggie of Eureka, MO. I'm looking to find when/where they originated in Scotland and if there is any known Jewish ancestry. If you have any questions, I know my grandpa has pictures and other family names you may be interested in. Now that I think about it, if your name is Joan, you may have emailed my mom, Barb, some info already. Either way, thank you for your help!

Sincerely,
Annie

Yes, I'm the granddaughter of Robert Thomas Geggie of Eureka, Mo. Met your lovely grandmother Betty and Grandfather Bob a few years back. I was in Scotland in Aug 2010 and will be in Scotland again in May 2012 at Polwarth where your grandfather's great-grandfather, Thomas is buried. Contact me at jemccarthy2@verizon.net and I'd be glad to share photos of where the family lived and information about this family. Joan
