Hi Geggies,
Just found this blog. Now i'm getting a wee bit older, i was searching for some info about the Geggies.
I'm the son of John Geggie who was born in North Berwick. His father was Sam Geggie who had a icecream parler in North Berwick. My dad had no brothers or sisters. My dad went in to service and to make a long story short, he now lives in Holland for over 35 years. I studied in Holland and moved to The Caribean. I have two little Geggies, born and raised on the caribean. So the Geggies are all over.
Hope you all will reply. Mayby there are other Geggies From Berwick on this blog.

Can you give me some more information about "Sam" Geggie?
Birth date?? When was he in business in North Berwicka?
Do you know his parents' name? My Geggie family goes back to 1711 in the Borders area between Berwick and Jedburgh.

Hi Gordon,

Is your dad John who married Margarette, your grandfather being Samuel Graden Geggie (1903 - 1967)?

If so, we are related, Your grandfathers youngest brother was Thomas Douglas Meston Geggie (1921 - 1978). Thomas is my grandfather. Unfortunately I never met my grandfather as he died about 2 months before I was born.

Would be great to here from you.

Nice we are family. Since i getting older i getting more interested in my family history.
My mam, Magriet ,every body calls her like that, is sick. She has parkinson dementcia and not doing well. My father is 79 now and living on his own now for 6 months now in Heerlen in a older home. My mom two floors higher in the more secured floor.
We always went to scotland when i was young and have great memories of it. We always stayed at the appartment complex across the candystore (next to the fish and chips place) on the top floor. My parents owned it. When i was 14 they sold it.
Now i live in the caribean for over 16 years and have a life here and my kids are born here.
My grandmother always went " duwn the highstreet" every day.
I always loved to play at the lodge where the trampolines and midget golf was.
Great time.
