Hello to anyone who is interested in the Geggie families

I have collected quite a bit of information relating to the various branches of Geggies. My hope is to collect and bring together as much as possible so that we each help one another. I have a database with most of the St. Catherines Births, Marriages and Deaths in England from 1837 onwards. I also have other information that has been given to me by various Geggie families. I think I have helped at least two families to link together and I believe that if we all make the little we each know available then we will be able to safeguard the family ties for the future.

Hi Phil,
My Great, great, great grandfather was George Geggie, born on Longhaughton in 1808, and moved to Bury in lancashire. He married a Mary Ann Kay in 1838, according to the IGI. He is listed on all censuses(1851,61,71,81) as a gardener, but I can find no trace of either of them on the 1841 census. Nor have I been able to find a record of their marriage in the local History section of Bury library (finances preclude sending off for lots of certificates, so I can't find much about Mary Ann.)
Any further info you have would be very welcome.
Cheers
Caryl Hughes

Hi there,

I'm looking for info on the Geggies who were settled in East Ontario (Spencerville/Dundas County/etc) -- specificly Gelevey Geggie (birth unknown), who was married to Catharine McKay (b.~1857) and was Father to Leroy E Geggie (b.July 1880, married to Lizzie Cooper july 24 1907 in Dundas county, ON). I found the marriage record of these two and Gelevey Geggie is listed as the Father of the groom.

From what my Mother has told me, I believe Gelevey Geggie may have been a minister.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
