My family comes from horadenka, a small town in russia that was also in austria and poland/hungry as the borders changed. My grandfather sol geffner left as a young man as did my great uncle irving geffner, both are now with hashem.

I am Avi Shoket (72 ) from Jerusalem . My grandmother is Rozia or Rachel - Gittle married to Mendel Ehrenkrantz .Her Maternal name is Geffner . Perished probably with Mendel probably 1941 when the germans entered Tarnopol.I assumme that the Geffners from Bucacz in the neighborhood may be related.Thanks for any information. My ancestors were Geffners from Usciesco (Istichke) near Horodenko, Tluste, Chortkov. Ancestor was Rabbi Jacob Geffner born 1780. Geffner relatives survived WW II in Transnistria, then emigrated to Israel. They had moved from Usciesco to Chernowitz during WW I
