Can anyone provide details on the origins of our name? (beyond being Gaelic Scottish). Secondly what is the earliest examples of our name appearing, and where? And other spelling variations people have come across. If I don't find suitable answers to these questions my wife intends that our children will not be christened with this surname - due to the "unfashionable" period our name is currently going through!!! Please help.
