I live in MN but my Dad was born in Texas. I don't have a membership for ancestry.com. Do you think it is worth the price?

I think so. I resisted the idea of spending the money for about a year. My wife finally pushed me to do it. I have never regretted it. I have found pictures as far back as my 5th great grandparents that another family member had. I had never seen them before and have been able to share them with the rest of my family. I have come across so many relatives that I had not met or hadn't seen in years. To me the pictures of relatives that I did not have are priceless and would have been lost to me and my family had I not done it.

I have even done the ancestry DNA which has been a really interesting line of discovery for me.

That's good to know! I've been wrestling with the idea of paying for the membership since I got my ancestryDNA test back last week.

I've always been interested in genealogy just never have spent the time to do it.

What did you think of the DNA test? Have you tried any of the other ones on the market?

I haven't tried any of the others yet but I am considering it though. I found the Results fascinating! I enjoyed the way that the percentages were broke down. It really helped confirm what I had been told growing up about the roots of my ancestors.
