I believe the Joseph you are referring to was the half brother of Daniel. I believe Alexander m. unknown (after Anna McMillan died (Daniel's mother)) and had 7 children, 6 of whom are shown with Alexander in the 1850 census in Leon Co. (Ellen, Joseph, Amanda, Robert, Mary Jane, and Lizzie. Joseph is listed in the census as 20 and born in FL. I haven't followed up on these children. Any clues for Sarah Oliver's parents would be greatly appreciated. Virginia

Virginia, hello ~ Thank you so much for the information about Alexander's second family! I do believe you are correct about this Joseph. I found him in the household of James Geddie, another of Alexander's sons, on the Ashley Co, AR 1860 census. I couldn't figure out the relationship, because Joseph was too old to be the son of James Geddie. Half brother explains it. I had read Alexander married a second time, after Anna McMillan died, but I didn't know the names of the children in the second family. Do you know when and where Alexander (b1792) died?
I am very sorry I can't help you with Sarah Oliver's parents. My line is: James Daniel, Alexander (b 1792), Alexander (b 1822, Martha Elizabeth who married John Davis Morgan. Should I discover any Oliver family information I'll certainly pass it along to you.
Again, thank you so much for the information about Joseph Geddie. AJ Stewart

Re: Looking for Geddie ancestors, Florida
Try a keywork search for the GEDDIE WORLD website. There is a discussion of Alexander Geddie moving from Eastern Carolina to Florida, accompanied by four or more adult children with their families. He moved on to Southern Arkansas and Louisiana area. Some of his family remained in the vicinity of Tallahassee. There is a picture of Geddie Road in that area.
