Surnames: Geddes, Lynds, Bonnell
Trying to determine if Julia A Geddes who married George Bonnell in Colchester Co, Nova Scotia is Agnes J Giddens who shows up around 1891 in Boston, Ma.

Julia last shows up in the 1891 Nova Scotia census and no death record for her can be found. Julia's husband remarried around 1897.

Agnes first shows up in 1900 US census in Boston as Agnes J Geddis. She has two daughters born in Boston, Helen E Giddens b. 1891 and Marion G Giddons b 1894. Agnes' youngest daughter Marion lived with Agnes G (Hall) Corey in the 1900 census. Julia A Geddes lived with Agnes Hall in 1881 in Nova Scotia.

Julia's mother Sarah also left Nova Scotia and died in Woburn, MA. She is last listed on the 1881 Nova Scotia census and her husband is listed as a widow on the 1891 Nova Scotia census even though Sarah didn't die until 1904 in Woburn. I can find no record of Sarah A (Lynds) Geddes from 1881 until her death in 1904.

Did these two women leave their husbands and move to Massachusetts assuming new identities?

Anyone have any other info on these women?

Julia's husband is recorded as widowed when he remarried in 1896.

Julia's father is also listed as a widow even though his wife was still alive and living in Massachusetts. Julia hadn't been in Nova Scotia for at least five years before her husband got remarried. He probably couldn't remarry without a divorce so had to say he was a widow.
