Hi, I'm looking for any descendents of Louis William Geck (1818-1880), a Polish immigrant who settled in New Mexico. Some of his descendents (from three or four wives) are named Newman, Barrio, Barrios, Aguirre, and Provencio.

Sorry about the delay. I just moved into a retirement home. My great grandfather was a Geck who came from Poland (at that time a part of Russia). After a stint in the army (dragoons), he settled in southern New Mexico (Dona Ana county) where he set up a merchant business. He married four times. Most of his wives died in childbirth. If this is the same Geck who is your ancestor, contact me and I'll provide additional information. Fletcher Newman

We are decendants of Casper Geck from Germany who married Anna Preschley in 1876. They had 4 daughters and one son Aloyious who I am directly related to. They lived in Detroit, then later resided in Cleveland, Ohio. This Message is to Carl William Geck who ws adopted. Do you feel your father may have been related to these people?

I read your message on the message board. I am the daughter of Epifano Geck, he had brother's by the name of Carlos, Luis, Sam and William. One of my brother's name is Pepe (Jose Luis)who resides in New Mexio. His daughter, Sylvia has done research on the Geck Family. My great, great, grandfather, from Poland was raised in Germany and came to New Mexico, served in the service with the dragoons. I beleive it's the same story. If you have any more information regarding the Geck family I would appreciate hearing from you.
Thank you, Mary Geck Valdez Orange County, California
