Hello Jean
I have a photo I want to scan to you,It contains a picture of the Gebbetts.
The genealogy paper I have lists Arthur Charles Gebbett as
Alfreds father and it says he narried Mary Beale.
Ant way I would like to scan this photo but your E mail does not seem to be working.
Cheers
Lynne

Hello

Have you received my last two emails? the second poses a mystery as to Alberts father, on his marriage certificate it is Alfred Edward and not Arthur. Any ideas.

Regards

Jean

Ok I blew that one .............
I found Alfred Edward Gebbett it looks like he was my gggrandfather
i looks like he had two sons twins????
One was James Charles Gebbett born 1846 died 1848
the other Was my Grandfather Alfred William Gebbett
born 1846 died 1931.Im thinking Albert James came along
much later in 1868 died in 1933.
this family tree thing is hard to read I only have a little of it.
It also looks like Alfred Edward could have had 3 more children who did not survive.
Anyway like you said they were Tanners skinners{leather workers} down the East end of London.
Anyway I do not know if this will help
I think my sister in the Uk now has the family tree.
I would like to scan you that photo though
Cheers Lynne

Hi Norma,

No idea if this will reach you nearly 10 years after your post, but I have a detailed family tree of The Gebbetts going back to the 1600's.

Contact me if you are still interested.

Best wishes
