My name is Ricardo, I'm brazilian and my mother is
Eny Gebara - This surname is a kind of "rare" in Brazil, so
we don't have so much information about. I'm looking for the roots of Gebara
family. We have some interesting information about the family.
If you know anything about or related to this surname, please contact me.
Thanks. Ricardo.

Hi, Jane;
Thanks for answering. I already know that the Gebara family came from Syria-Lebanon, but know I can track them through the name Miriam Rassi. It's my first clue.
My mother is a Gebara, and she told me that her Grandparents came from Syria-Lebanon to marry, about 1900. They first came to Argentina,and later, Brazil (where we live).
Could you put me in contact with one of them ?
Ricardo.
Ps:- If you want some help to find any information, feel free to ask.

Hi, Jane;
I don't know if I have already told you about the history,my grand-grand mother Bacita Gebara came from Lebanon to Argentina to marry (I can't remeber the name of my g.g.father now, I'll have to ask my granny), and some of her brothers came after her.
When she decided on moving to Brazil, they stood there and the family is still going on there. I have some old letters written in spanish,but they don't have any clue of people from our family who stood there (Lebanon-Sirya). I will have to be in contact with my relatives in Argentina to find out if they keep old records, or documents from immigration.
I'm still searching the whole history, and I have to find out if more people left Lebanon at that time and where are they. I sent some e-mails I found on Internet but I have no answer until this moment. Since I received the first answer I'll put in in contact with these people too. I still waiting an answer from that adress you gave me too.
If something cames out,you'll be informed as soon as possible. Thanks. Ricardo Leite

PS:- now I have more names related to help in my search, thank very much.
