Hello Cousins! I have drifted away from all the Geaneyology research over the past year, but recent contacts from Janice and Tracy and continued contact with Steve have brought out the bloodhound. My father, David Geaney, was born in 1939 in Cork City, Ireland to Margaret Mary Gorman and David James Geaney. He has two brothers, James (Jimmy) and Jerimiah(Jerry) who are both still living in Cork City. My father emigrated to Boston in 1957, joined the Air Force in 1961, married my mother Teresa Alice McCallan in Maine in 1963. Her family is also from Ireland. McCallan and Minnehan and Murrays from Skibereen, Co. Cork. Names that have been passed down the generations are Margaret, Mary, Edward(Ned), David, Michael, James, Jeremiah, Garry, Moll, Julia, Micah, Morris (Mossy). Somewhere in the past my father's side was also known as O'Geaney. I would love to hear from any Geaney's out there. I am currently in Pittsburgh, PA. My parents are in Weare, NH. I have a brother, David, in Maryland and a brother, Kevin, outside of Boston.

My grandfather, Jeremiah Geaney was married to Margaret Curtin. They are both from Co. Cork. My mother, Molly Geaney was born in 1926. Her mother, Margaret Curtin was about 50 and my mother was 14 when she died, so I recon it was about 1940. Jeremiah Geaney died about 1954. I know there are Geaney's / Curtins (Mahoney was one family) in America.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello David, My grandfather, father, cousin, brother and nephew are all David Geaneys. My grandmother, cousin, aunt, and myself are all Margaret Mary Geaneys. Are they common names in your family tree? Other names that seem to repeat are James, Jeremiah, Mary, Julie, Edward (Neddie), John, and Joseph. Good to hear from you. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania now. Hope to return to Cork sometime this year for a visit.
