My great great grandmother was Ann Geany, who married John O'Connor, probably in the 1860s and probably in County Cork. They had a son named Jeremiah born in or about March 1863. By the 1880s, John and Jeremiah had emigrated to Auburn, New York, and Ann may already have died. Does anyone else's family history include this particular Ann Geany? Other family surnames that might be connected with this same emigration are Holihan and Mahoney.

I am wondering if there is a connection between us. My greatgrandaunts were Ellen and Johanna Cadogan from Poulnacallee in County Cork. One of them at least was married to John Geaney of Lackahane, the place you visited, and I suspect that both were married in the 1870s to different John Geaneys who were cousins.

That`s all for now,but would be delighted to hear from you,my wife sadly is in residential care home, with Parkinson, but it would cheer her up if my information perhaps was correct. sincere regards Richard Muir Clancy.
