Douglas Genie (Gennie, land records) identified for sure. Had 2 soons that we know about Clement L. born 1842 And Douglas born 1888. Calhooun County,Ill. Clem in Mo long enough to have 2 families then went on to Texas. I thought Geaney was a French name. Wife of Douglas Sr. was Julia B. Puqwit(spelling??) Hi all. Since my first message in Feb. 2000, we have found out lots. We are from the Gainey (Americanized?) out of Mass. in the 1870s, but believe we are related the Geaneys from Co. Cork. We stayed with some Geaneys in Skibboreen last June and took photos of some former Geaney residences as well as talked to several of the locals. We are still looking for Dennis connection between Co. Cork and US. His mother was Ellen Collins and Father John Gainey. Can anybody help? Thanks.
