I AM LOOKING FOR INFO ON MY GGGRANDFATHER,
BIRD GEAN, WHO WAS BORN ABT. 1822 IN NORTH CAROLINA,
SUPPOSEDLY THE SON OF WILLIAM GEAN (JEAN). HE MARRIED
SARAH A. BRANTLEY IN CHATHAM CO. NC IN 1842. THEY ARE
ON THE 1850 CHATHAM CO. CENSUS WITH CHILDREN DAVID EDWARD,
JOHN BRANTLEY, MARY ANN AND WILLIAM. WOULD APPRECIATE
ANY LEADS ANYONE COULD GIVE ME ON BIRD GEAN.

Do you have any information on the siblings of your Bird GEAN? I am trying to tie my lines in and it would be helpful, possibly to both of us.

I'm a DAR researcher trying to help a local lady trace her Jean/Gean line. I live very near Chatham Co, but since Bird Jean moved to AR the trail has gone cold.

My prospect has a several times gr-grandfather named William Gean who supposedly was a son of Bird, but all his information is in Graham, NC. Does anybody have any idea of where William came from, and why he might have moved back from AR?

Alternatively, it makes more sense that William is descended from the nearby Guilford Co Philip Jean family, but I'm unable to make any connections there either - and the dates just don't line up.

I can be reached at sidesadl@aol.com
