In Eugene Herbert's book, Creaton to Camballup, p245, he traces the Geake family from Albanay Western Australia back to a Degory Geake (bpts. 1738/9, in Lawhitton. He is the son of a Robert Geake, but there are two men named Robert Geake around at the time, and Eugene says it is impossible to say whether Degory's father was:
(a) Robert Geake, bapt. 22nd July 1716, in Lawhitton, who married Ann Fox of Lezant on 18th May 1737, or
(b) Robert Geake, bapt. 15th Jan 1705, who married Jane Olver on 26th August, 1736.
I notice that all the family trees posted on Ancestry presume (a) to be the case. Does anybody have the proof of this?
