Sorry, but the GEAKEs that I am primarily researching are in Cornwall.

Thanks for your offer though.

Hi
I am also researching the Geake Family. My grandmother was Emma Geake, daughter of Richard Geake and Susan Page. Richard's parents were Roger Pawley Geake and Mary Ann Doidge. Any information you could send me would be very much appreciated. I have been doing this family for just a short time and so am looking for all the info I can get.

Email me privately and I will share what I have on Emma's paternal ancestry :-)

I would love to share info regarding her descendants as well as any info you have on her siblings, etc.

With her ancestry, you also share my husband's UGLOW ancestry -- not sure whether or not you knew they were also ancestors!

Mary,

Look carefully ~ there's a DOT right after the word family :-)

Try again as I'm anxious to share with you and help in any way that I can.

Andrew,

Noted once again that you say you can't go any further back than William GEAKE, yeoman, born 1869 .... is that still the case or have you been able to go back further?

I ask because I have a William GEAKE born abt 1869 in Liskeard, s/o Mary Jane SYMONS & Thomas Henry GEAKE who was s/o Edward GEAKE & Ursula PALMER, etc.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

I am a descendant of William Geake (1852-1937) who was the brother of your great-grandfather, Richard Geake. According to my records Susan Page and Richard Geake had six children but only three lived past infancy: Edith S. M. Geake(1880-1910), Charles Page Geake (1885-1969) and Emma Louisa Geake (1888- ?) who married Charles Lawson.

Ivy GEAKE was born abt 1901 in Pennsylvania according to the Index for the 1910 and 1920 Census.

In 1910 she is listed as Ivy SEAKE d/o George & Ann.
In 1920 she is listed as Ivy HENDERSHOT w/o Albert HENDERSHOT with daughter Ivy born abt 1918.

My husband is descended from Cornwall GEAKEs as well but I'm not yet sure if there is any connection between his and yours as I don't yet know enough about George.

Were you ever able to discover which branch of the Cornish GEAKE families you descend from ?

I have been adding to my GEAKE database since 1998 and am trying to trace as many families from there as I can.

I have a fairly extensive Geake database on John Geake and his wife Betsey Honey Geake and their descendants who settled in Bangor, Pennsylvania. If anybody is interested in the data on this line of Geakes, who originated in Boscastle/Camelford feel free to write me at rsmallen at rcn dot com
