My Great Grandfather was George Gdovichin Sr. He came from Lozin, Slovakia. Born May 9, 1888 and died Dec. 28, 1967. His father was Paul Gdovicsin and mother Mary Miezak (meczak) who both were from Lozin, Slovakia. He had a sister and brother, Mary and Paul. My great grandfather married Susie Pastarchak (Ninne, Slovakia) in Nov. 16,1909. They had 4 children: George, Charles, John and Susie. Any other info. would help.

Pretty lonely here on the thread....<s>
I don't have anything directly, but your post is of interest. My line goes back to Gdovicsin but in a different location. There seems to be two regions where this family existed. One in the village of Michalovce and some surrounding villages, which includes Lozin
The surname is also found in the villages of Bela nad Cirochou and Snina, Slovakia...roughly 20 miles to the north east of your family. Though I think the Gdovicsin moved into the area shortly before 1839.
I've seen all sorts of spelling variations on Snina [Hungarian name was Szinna.] and your Susie Pastarchak from Ninne is curious. I can't find a village by that name in Slovakia or the old Zemplen county of Hungary. Is Ninne what you meant to type and/or do you have a location for that village.

I just ran across Gdovicsin in my Slovak genealogy research. It happens to be from the same area you posted -- though there may not be any family connection. Maria Gdovicsin b abt 1852, married Andrej Moszkaly abt 1889. That would suggest one generation earlier than your posting.
Your Ninne, Slovakia is probably Vinne, just east of Michalovce. Your Pastarchak may be Pastirc'ák.
Have you researched Slovak church records for Lozin?
