Looking for information on Samuel Gay born March 1, 1860 and died in 1932 supposedly of a heart attack in Los Angeles and buried in Nevada.

He is related to my family, but exactly how is a difference of opinion. Most believe he is the son of Abner Gay (1834-1912) and Christy Nicholson 1842-1913)

It does not appear that he ever married or had children and the only information I have is from elder relatives and a story my great grandfather gave me that was written in 1999 in the review journal.

Anyone have verifed information on this gentleman? or can help me find some would be greatly appreciated. He seems to be an interested bloke!

Hi Cindy,
I did a quick search of the islandnewspapers site and found an "In Memoriam" article printed December 20, 1932. I will try to attach it here. If you cannot access it, let me know and I can try to email it to you.

Diana!

I am so sorry I procrasinated and neve met you when I live so close!! lol

Yes, I did see the memorian. I am trying ot find out more about his life in Las Vegas. A quote from him graces the Mob Museum in Las Vegas and I have tried phoning and emailing to see if they have any archival information but alsa no one has gotten back to me.

I am hoping to trace him when he went up to pan for gold but figure that may be wishful thinking. He just seems to be an interesting figure in our tree and want to round him out a bit. I do have a couple of photos of him whiole he was sheriff. :)
