First of all, a point of correction. Gavard is a French name from the Alps. There is a big concentration of Gavards in the area of Viuz en Sallaz in Haute Savoie, 20 km from Geneva, Switzerland. You will also find a big concentration of Gavards in Normandy. If you would like to get more information on the Gavard name, you are free to get in touch with me.

Re: Where are the Gavard's?
Hi Mark, My name is Lance McRae, my daughter in law is Shannon Gavard McRae, married to my son Bryan. I have been working pretty extensively on the Gavard name for a surprise for Shannon. So Far I have been able to get the Gavard name back proven to 1668. I have amassed a lot of info on the family. I am in the process of getting it all put together at this point. Shannon has talked to her father Jeffa and he mentioned that he had some pictures of your father Edward Harry and Grandfather Edward A.. I have found a picture of his father, Frank Gavard (1857 and also his wife Rosa Oberbeck. Jeff mentioned to Shannon that your sister Sharon might have more pictures and short historys of the various Gavard men. Do either you or Sharon have anything that you can send in the way of pictures or stories or events or anything else that will help the Gavard men come alive in people's memory? I am trying to do this as a christmas present for Shannon, so time is scarce... Any help would be appricated.. Thanks. Lance
