I have not heard of the names Walter or Bridget Gavan. However, the name Pendergast (spelled as I have heard it) is a familiar name from conversations with my father. I believe a great uncle of his. It is a tragic story of a loging death in the state of Washington.
My father is 83 and living in Ludington MI. I'll give him a call and let you know if Walter is in his memory.
Good luck on your search

Shawn:
Thank you for your reply to my message. My grandfather was James Prendergast who was born in Ireland 1852, my grandmother was Bridget Gavan born in Ireland 1852.As far as I know they came from County Mayo in 18701871 and lived in Brooklyn NY. I remember attending a wedding of one of the Gavans in Belville NJ in the early 1930s.
Thanks again for your reply.

Hello,

I am searching for family members sharing the last name of Gavan, from Ireland. Specifically, I am searching for a Cornelius Gavan. It is thought that he was from County Meath. He also had connections in Dublin. Because the spelling of this name is unusual, I am hoping that this search will be easy. I am writing this message on behalf of my friend, Mary Gavan.

Thank you.

Looking for a Catherine Gavan/Gavin who came from Ireland @1865-1869. She married Timothy Lynskey in N.Y. in 1869 and had a son there in 1871. They moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Help!

Stephen, Catherine was such a popular name in Ireland there are lots of them and I have many listed if you do not have her parents names what were the names of her children, this sometimes will give a clue with the irish naming pattern they had set rules on who was named after what grandparent etc.
