Hi Cyprien,
Would you please check your database to see if you see any connection to the following Gautier family. By 1790, they were in Beaufort County, North Carolina. They were mainly Sea Captains and Sailors.
Joseph, Sr. was probably born about 1755 to 1765. He married an Unknown ARCHBELL. His son Francis (~1785->1840) was also noted with the name Francois and Francway/Fransway. His son Joseph, Jr. (~1795->1840)and his wife Elizabeth Unknown have a deed transaction with an Uel ABLE in 1827 in Beaufort County. There was an Arthur ABLE in Beaufort County in 1790. The naming of the children of Francis and his wife Mabel were French sounding.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
David French
