This is the loneliest family site I've seen...Surely my great-grandmother didn't spring from nowhere! All I know is that her name was Minnie E. Gaubert, that she was married 3/7/1881 in Warrensburg, Johnson Co., MO to Frank Burrington, that she had three children who survived infancy: Charles Earl, Frank Sam and Nellie Fern, and that she drowned in a flash flood near Seneca, MO. in the early 1930's.
All help in finding her family would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

I may not be able to help you a lot, however i have just uploaded the Gaubert Family Tree of my branch in the UK. Please feel free to try and find any possible connections. I have a small reference to USA. www.members.aol.com/zeteticrg

Hope this is of some help. Apologises as this is my first web page design and I still have a few technical faults.

There's also the last spelling. Is that a real name or is it a misspelling of Gaubert?

the spelling ' gobert' was included since i'm not certain if early members of the family were recorded with a phonetic spelling, regards ray gaubert

I've learned that the first spelling is the true French name, that Gobert (English interpretation) was started around the 1900's and I do believe that Gobere is spelled because the French name does not sound the "t". Americans have traditionally misspelled our French pronounced names from the time they bought La. Territory from France. Just as they never wanted to accept that we Creoles are truly different from any of our counterparts in history, racial makeup, language, food, morals, religion and all of the things that constitute a nation of people.

Teresa-
This is your cousin! I was doing some research on your Mom's side and your query popped up on a google search. I have her Burrington side back to Colrain, Franklin Co, MA. I have not found anything on her maternal side beyond Edward Butterfield/Nancy Cantwell and so far I have nothing on the ancesters of Minnie Gaubert. I didn't know that you were working on your lines. Contact me at my new email address; <dennisp@sundancenet.com>. Dennis

Frank and Minnie are my great-great grandparents. They also had a daughter Nellie Fern Burrington born January 4, 1896. She married Avin Green Harper in 1920. They had a son Loren Avin Harper (b 7/27/1921 in Miami, Ottowa Co., Okalahoma & d 12/31/1953 in Protland, Oregon) and a Living daughter, my grandmother. Nellie died Aug. 27, 1957 In Salem, Oregon when MY mother was 2. Avin and Nellie moved around alot, so my grandmother didn't really know any of her mother's family. I am doing this research for her as well as myself. If you have anything to add, please share.

Jenifer: I've tried your personal e-mail, but received no reply, so will post here. My mother, who will be 90 this Saturday, is Nellie's niece and remembers her, Frank and Minnie well. She has written a family history, and we have data on Burringtons and Fairbanks (though no Gauberts), as well as photos of Burringtons (including all those you named). We would be happy to share. Let me know what you're looking for.

Teresa, Sorry for the delay. We have been gone for the summer. I have emailed you in more detail. I would love to share anything you have. As I said in my email, I have a photo of Nellie and her Affidavit of Birth, if you want to add them to your scrapbooks. I look forward to hearing from you. Jeni
