I have a g-g-grandfather named Joseph Gau who married a Louise Stueber in Hamilton Ohio. I'm looking for info on Joseph and Louise. He had a daughter Julia Gau, who is my grandmother's mother. My grandmother, Florence Ovington is still alive at 100 years old. I have information on other children of Joseph in my family file. Let me know if you think we're looking for the same Joseph Gau.

If you want more info, please email me.

Yes we are related. I found the connecting info in the 1880 Ohio census. The census spelt louise as louisa and that she is from Bovaria Germany. I will check the Passenger lists from Germany to the US for when she immigrated. I will be happy to trade you info on the gau family. I am glad to make the connection with you.

Orvile is the youngest of the gau family. Jacob is the third oldest. It goes dorothea c. "irene" gau who married william andrew carpenter. Second is my Grandmother Thelma Audrey Gau who married Louis Evert carpenter then comes jacob e. gau then Myrtle l. Gau then Orvile s.gau. I have more info past thier parents and only up to their parents who came from Germany. Baden. I'll send some more info. I just have a limited time on the internet. I"ll give you some more with in the week. so please keep checking once in 2- 3 days. It's very hard to get info to get on the Gau family since I have found it to be a rare German name. I hope you will respond back occassionaly. Keeping in contact with you is important. Thelma Gau was my grandmother. LInda louise Carpenter Tong.

Hi patty! thanks for the info. All I have on joseph is that he lived in Ohio. That he had children 5 that were his. He and his brother Herman died approximately the same year 1878. And that his wife Louisa helped raise 4 children of Herman's. any info is great though to clear up any misunderstandings I have on the Gau family.

Any info on the Gau gamily is perfect. Especially on what happened to Herman and Joseph Gau in 1878 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Did they both die the same year and from what. And was Herman the father of Jacob gau (B.1861). Thanks for any Info Linda tong
