It seems there is some mystery as to whether Harmon Gaskins wife was Elizabeth Durant or Elizabeth Squires.

The Craven County Heritage book has Harmon Gaskins wife as Elizabeth Durant.

I have yet to see any other source that makes this claim.

I have seen some folks reference the 1801 Amos Squires land deed where his heirs sell off his land. The heirs include his daughter, Elizbeth Squires Gaskins (and husband Harmon Gaskins), Sarah Gaskins and John Squires.

Unfortunately, I've not been able to locate a will for Amos Squires so I don't know if Sarah is a daughter or granddaughter.... and I also don't know if he had any other children.

I've made copies of the original deed from the Craven County Register of Deeds and I've gone ahead and scanned them in.
