Dear Sal, I don't know whether it can help you or not but my last name is Gascard, I come from Belgium and some people told me it came from "Gascony" which is effectively a region in the North of Spain, other said it came from "Provence" wich is a region in the South of France. Maybe our names are related.

Gasca, La gasca, de la Gasca,... Garcia de la Gasca
Hello from spain, Gasca is a surname from north of spain. During my research I found my last ancestor : - Joseph La Gasca from Andorra (Provincia de Teruel) in Aragon. This Andorra is not the state between France and Spain. Joseph La Gasca married Ofraria Pastor in the last years of the XVII century. His son Joseph married in 1714 María Aguilar from Calanda (Teruel). From this moment his family grow in Calanda but his name change de "La Gasca" to "Gasca"... De la Gasca is an other translation but I Think is from the highest social Class. We found a famous Pedro de la Gasca who was governor in America in 1550 (?). In the "Archivo de las Indias" we found a garcia de la Gasca from Valencia who go to America make his fortune and comme back to Spain in 15??.
I hope you found some interesting informations in this E-mail .
I'm waiting your impression.
Thanks
LorenZo
(Sorry for my English... my Spanish and French are better)

My girlfriend's mother's boyfriend (??) has the last name of Gasca. Although his family came from Mexico, he's been told that his grandfather, Julian Gasca, came from France. This would've been in the late 1800s. Is anyone researching this tree? Thanks.
