My ancestors were Bernard and Maria Garvey born c.1790/1800, children were Patrick, Maria, James, Bartholomew and Bridget,born 1823, 1826, 1829, 1833 and 1836 resp. at least two settled in England, and trying to trace the others.Any info. gratefully received. grandfather, Jack Garvey NY, is Irish. So I just
dicided I should reply.

Thomas Vincent Garvey emigrated to Boston, MA, with mother, father, brother, and two sisters ~ 1873. This Garvey family eventually settled in New York City.

There is no John Garvey on my line. The Family line is as follows:
Bernardus Garvy married Mariea McManus about 1820. Siblings were Patricius, Maria, Jacubum(James), Bartholomeum( my great grandfather born 1832), and Bridgiteum. These are the spellings in the Roman Catholic registers in Co. Sligo which is close by Roscommon.My Great Grandfather and his brother Patrick emigrated to Birmingham, England, where Bartholomew married Amelia Shelvoak. In 1865, my grandfather, also Bartholomew married Louisa Reeves. Thus the line goes on through my father, my son and my Grandson, Ryan Victor Garvey.
I will have a look through some of my archives to see if I can find any of your line. Regards.

My great grandmother was a Bridget Garvey of Roscommon. B.1839, arr Canada 1850 married c1861 to Thos McDermott of Roscommon in Canada died Oakville Canada 1907. can you connect this, Vic? thanks for anything! Wm.

As far as I can make out the Bridget on my line was born about 1836 and was the youngest sister of my great grandfather. While I can trace the movements of some of his other relatives, I have have no info. about Bridget. I know that the family originated from the town of Boyle in County Roscommon, Ireland. Their father was Bernard Garvey, and mother Maria McManus. I don't know if this ties in anywhere with your line. I would like to think it does! Best regards, Vic
