My name is Linda Marie Gartland. I was born
in SF 1953. My father was Patrick Joseph Gartland. My mother
is Janet Grethel. They had 3 children, myself, Susan and Colleen.
According to his birth certificate, he was born
in 1923 in SF. His parents were Alice Oconnor, also
born in SF in aprox 1903 and his father was
Eugene Patrick Gartland, born in SF in 1900.
They had 3 children, my father, his brother Eugene, who
was an attorney in SF, and a sister, Maureen.
My parents divorced in 1958 and all contact with
the paternal side stopped. My uncle had two daughters.
One was named Melinda or Belinda. I have attempted many times
to contact my father's brother, but no replies have come.
My father died about 10 years ago, and I am sorry to say that
I had virtually no contact with him after the divorce. I have
attempted to contact the few Gartlands in California, but appears
that no one is related. It is not a common name here. If anyone
is able to please find a connection with my father or grandparents,
it would mean so very much to me. Thank you so much.
