Hello there! My name is Maria Gartland. I am not a Gartland by birth, but my family tree is so impossible to find (Hungary, Brazil, Argentina, US) that I volunteered to trace my husband's Gartland Family.
I'm beginning to realize that I've set myself up to an almost impossible task! Gartland's are all over!!

I've gotten as far back as Thomas Gartland. We have no information on him other than he lived in St. Louis, MO. Thomas had 5 children: Eugene Joseph, Arthur, Jenny, Peter and George. Looks like the St. Louis branch comes from Eugene Joseph Gartland (1869-1951)who was married to Sarah Meyer (1876-1921). Their children were Thomas Michael (1895-1990), Eugene Joseph (1869-1981), Maude Harriett (1903-1976), Sarah Frances (1911-xx), Arthur Valentine (1916-xx), Robert Emmett (1916-??).
