Hello David Holmes,
The GARRISON/GARRETSON marriages you refer to, do not seem to be out on the web anywhere--so you may be the only one who is aware of these. Thank you again for bringing up this important info. I also noticed that the Monmouth County NJ Hist Society seems to have your Christ Church of Shrewsbury NJ churchbook records- so this may be the best repository. LDS does not have the marriages , it seems...So, I have not been able to duplicate the marriages you reference...

While you are looking for the Mary HARTSHORNE, wife of Abraham GARRISON family, you may bump into a Helen REID, wife of Benjamin GARRISON family also of 1700s, Monmouth. When I stumbled onto them the other day, perhaps in LDS records, I was quite surprised to see them of Monmouth County, NJ.

The early NY names Elizabeth LAWRENCE, and William LAWRENCE also popped up in your HOLMES/HARTSHORNE family (which names are stumbling blocks in our Montauban, France GARRISSON lines. So this link may point to DEGARRISSON families...

Benjamin GARRISON/GARRETSON may be a large clue for you. If I recall correctly, when I visited NJ Hist Soc, Newark NJ, it was in a REID file where I found some wonderful old info on the sea captain, Nicholas GARRISON/GARRETSON. I have often bumped into a published bible record for a Benjamin GARRISON/NOBLE/REID family which finally aligned for me, with the sea captain, Nicholas' line. There was only a daughter in this Benjamin family (Mary Dorthea Garrison - I think-I am not looking at my files) so I have not been able to find DNA coming down this line.

If you follow this family, look for Gerrit SEGERS name as the correct father of Lambert GERRITSEN, as the father of Captain Nicholas GARRISON/GERRITSON. See 1993 NYGB Record articles of Phyllis Miller outlining this SEGERS/GERRITSEN family. Yes, I still need DNA from a Mr. SEGERS or Mr. GERRITSON/GARRISON, since the DNA pattern of this branch is undefined. You will find the name Abraham within Lambert's line.

I am very interested in the HARCOURT or HARKER family of perhaps Monmouth NJ area, so if you encounter them....

It would be significant to pin down the Monmouth County NJ lines- so we all appreciate your working on these lines! The Lambert GERRITSEN>Nicholas Garrison line is the best defined of Gerrit SEGERS family, but I cannot find anyone who traces back to this large family...Dee Bardes, GARRISSON II DNA Proj Admin, www.familytreedna.com
