Bell Garity/Gearty

Hello,

I'm searching for information about Bell. This is what I know:
Feb 12, 1839 - Ireland Catholic Parish Marriages & Banns show Bell Gearty marries John McCann. Laurence Garity is listed as "other".
1839 - John McCann and Bell Garity's daughter, Judith, is christened.
1848 - John McCann and Bell Garity's daughter, Bridget, is christened.

I have not been able to locate a birth/christening record for Bell. I know there are multiple variations for Garity (Gerahty, garety, Gearty, Garrity). I've tried these variations with no success. I have also searched for Laurence, assuming he is somehow related to Bell, but I haven't been able to find any connection between the two.

Help?

Fay Anna Garity, age 92,born in Everson, Pa.daughter of , John and Mary Smith Waller.

Fay Anna Garity, age 92,
of Erie passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011
She was born in Everson, Pa. on October 26, 1918, the daughter of the late John and Mary Smith Waller. She was orphaned as a teenager, and soon learned the value of hard work. This paid off in later hard times when her children were at a tender age. A longtime resident of Erie, she worked at many retail establishments in town, retiring at age 79 at Sam's Club.
Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Leo W. Garity of Sharon,
and a brother, John, of Ohio.
She is survived by her three sons, Dennis, of Erie, Terrance, of Austin, Tex., and Timothy, of Lincoln, Neb. Fay had seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, and was always inquiring about their grades and activities. She was very generous with her limited resources, helping anyone in her family who was in need. The family expresses much gratitude to the staffs of Mid-City Towers and the Golden Living Center. Fay always felt their caring attitude. A special note of thanks to her son, Dennis, and to Charles and Carol Zaunegger, who helped her have a high quality of life in her later years. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at the Merle E. Wood Funeral Home, Inc. 215 W. 25th St., on Tuesday, March 22, at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Richard Bailey will lead the service.
(in the Erie Times-News on March 20, 2011 )

Patrick Geraghty (Garity) married Ann Kearney

Pat Geraghty married Ann Kearney Oct 14, 1844 at the Mission at Aylmer,Quebec. He was born in Mayo,Ireland around 1821,the son of Patrick Geraghty and Catherine Kuscik. Ann was also born in Mayo, her parents were Michael Kearney and Mary Walsh. The couple farmed in the Cantley, Hull, Quebec area and had at least seven children, Moira, Catherine, Ann, Michael, Ellen, Julia and Hannah. They "disappear" from Canadian census records after 1861 but there is a Patrick Garity family in the 1880 US census of Ogdensburg New York which may match up. I am looking for any information on this family and where they may have ended up.

We had alot of things going and I have finally had a chance to check up on things. Daly was my grandmothers maiden name. She would tell me stories about how she would go in the convent and help the nuns make the host. Father Garity was her cousin. I have kind of come to a dead end with the Daly's.My search stops in Canada. Thanks for your information.

Father Edwin's baptised name was John Garrity and his parents names were Thomas J. Garrity (born 12/21/1865) and Margaret O'Donnell (born 5/5/1866). Thomas J. Garrity and my grandfather were brothers, and their father's name was Hugh Garrity and their mother's name was Margaret 'Malley.
Hugh and Margaret arrived in this country around 1864 and settled in Philadelphia.

Father Edwin's siblings included Mary Teresa Garrity, Thomas Garrity, Jr., Francis Garrity, Joseph Garrity, Cornelius Garrity, Hugh Garrity, and Margaret Garrity.

Are you a decendant of the Garrity family or the O'Donnell family. I believe Margaet O'Donnell was from Phoenixville, PA which is a suburb of Philadelphia.

Please send me your full e-mail address and I can send you an invitation to a web page I have set up with a Garrity Family Tree.
