Thanks very much for your message. I checked your DNA kit in Gedmatch and it doesn't match any of the three of us from my Plunkett line. That doesn't necessarily rule out that your Mary was a Plunkett, but it doesn't prove it either. I've been in touch with Sandra Plumbo already and she was helpful. She found William Plunkett on census records here on Ancestry, which I saved. If you check out the 1840 federal census for Rush, Susquehanna, PA, you will find Amos and Elisha Garfield enumerated. They all lived close to each other and to Michael Plunkett. My next step is to order a death record on William Plunkett in the hope that his parents are named on it. Most likely not, but worth a try. He lived in an institution in Napa County, CA for quite a long time, which I recently learned was for alcoholics. I believe he want to CA during the gold rush. I'll be happy to send you an analysis I did on census records showing how these Garfields and Plunketts moved together in tandem. My email is:
