I am trying to find information on a notorious desperado named Charles Gardner, alias "Big Phil". He came from Philadelphia, stood 6' 4, weighed 250 pounds, with long hair and long beard, and escaped from the Moymensing prison. Gardner lived among the Arapaho Indians, had two squaws and several children. "Big Phil" Gardner led the cavarly at the Battle of Ash Hollow in 1855, and afterwards terrorized the town of Denver, Colorado.

Are there any of his descendants, with Arapaho ancestry, still out there in the Rocky Mountain region?
