Hi! I am looking for information on my grandmother's side of the family. She was Victoria Garcia born in 1911 in Las Latas Ranch and died in 1960 in Alice, Texas. Her mother was Virginia Garcia Guerra (husband Pedro Garcia). Virginia parents were Reymundo Guerra(1860) and Victoria Garcia (born 1865). My great-grandfather Pedro Garcia's father was Cristobal Hinojosa Vela Garcia. He had two wives and eight sons. I have a list of them all. Cristobal's father was Clemente Hinojosa Vela Garcia. Clemente's wife was Conception Vela. Clemente had land that was part of the Las Anacuas Land Grant. But the dispersion of the land has been lost. It was located in Jim Wells and San Diego counties. Does anybody have a clue? I have a copy of the orginal grant. Also, does anybody know if Rafael Garcia and Clemente were brothers? They are listed as living on the same property on the 1880 census.Any info would be greatly appreciated. It has been difficult building this tree. The San Diego, Texas courthouse burned down in the early 1900's and most of the records were lost. Thanks!
