Hi Joe, thanks for replying. I know practically nothing about the family so the most I can is that it is spelled the same! I don't see many spelled Garafolo. My husband's father was born in Philadelphia in 1908. His father was Guiseppe Garafolo who was married to Theresa Marianni. Guiseppe died in 1953 at aged 87, in Brooklyn NY, I think. I would be great if there was a family connetion. Terri

When did Guiseppe emigrate to America...could it have been in 1912 at the age of 60 from San Angelo dei Lombardi?

I am also in search of Garafolo familes in MA, who are cousins to my greatgrandfather Giuseppe (Joseph) Mazzei, maried to Lucrezia Celia, immigrated to US from Cassono Ionio, Calabria in 1899 with children Frank, Maria & Salvatore. Do you have any Mazzei's in your line...the were eight children in total all resided in Boston area. I met my father's cousin Letecia (Letty) Garafolo (now deceased) many years ago and was told that her Mother was related to Giuseppe (Joseph) Mazzei. In addition the Praino's in Boston were also cousins to the Mazzei's & Garafolo's.

I would love to be able to say you've found a match, but I just don't know! I know little of my husband's family and he is now deceased. I know that my husband's father was born in Philadelphia and that his father (Giuseppe Garafolo) died in the 50's and was buried in the Bronyx. His son, my FIL, had 7-8 siblings and I know only of a Theresa, a Ralph and a Margaret. I'd like to make a match and find out a little about that side of our family. Good luck!

Terri - Thank you for your quick response, I did read your posting last night. I just was reminded of Garafolo's upon receiving feedback from forms that were mailed out to family members. As soon as I am able to collect a few more facts I will post what I found and see if anyone finds a match.

Well I'm back and I have now found that our Garofalo's spelling is different, although the bostonion's pronounced it like Ga-ra-fa-lo.

Just incase here's the family info on our tree.
Letizia Mazzei married Gaetano Garofalo, their son Joseph married Anna Fabello, they had 4 children Letty Garofalo, Mary Garofalo married to Frank Hill (2 kids), Gary Garofalo married to Kett Paterno (7 kids), Vera Garofalo married Paul Pomes (3 kids).

This may not fit into your tree but maybe someone else's.
