I have stumbled upon a connection! Miss Jane Ellis, whom Jay Gano married, is the sister of my ancestor Morey C. Ellis. The plot in which their mother, Mary Pratt Ellis, is buried in Little Valley, New York, was purchased by Jay Gano. Though it seemed both the Gano family and the Ellis family were from Otsego county, NY, I wasn't sure of what the connection between the families was until reading this. Thank you for posting!
