Dear Charlie

Was going through the messages for Gamache and found yours on Thomas Gamache being ancestors for the Gammage....

Honestly this is my own opinion, I am not a professional in genealogy but been involved in it for many years..and any puzzles is a challenge for me and this one I dont really think the Gamache and Gammage are two different branches, and the ONLY ancestor I found in books that record documents of the begening of New France is NICOLAS Gamache dit Lamarre. This one build the manor in Cap St Ignace , Co L'Islet, son of NICOLAS Gamache and Jacqueline Cadot.. he had a sister that is the ancestor of ALL FORTIN in New France including the state and any other places that you will find some FORTIN after 1652 which is her mariage with Julien FORTIN dit bellefontaine. Also for the Gamache in a message in 2001 i believe I sent an article about the Jacques being half brother of NICOLAS , it is speculation only ..I dont have proof just an article about it....

This week end I spent it in genealogy... 12 hours a day and I found on census of 1901, canadian one that there was a family of Gammage in TORONTO area listed...Silus b in 1859 and Margret 1858 parents of Allice, 1885, Norman, 1888, Mary, 1889, Albert,1889, therefore twins, Elizabeth , 1893 and Roy, 1894.... I didnt find them in cnesus 1906 cause it just started to be available a lot more to do with it...

Now I hope some Gamache will find them in their genealogy...please look for it ....and if their are some Gammage reading this please contact me on the board...I am willing to hear you.. oh yes...

you will think I am addicted to genealogy oh yes it is my passion.....but I am open to others' opinions tho...

Charlie one more thing, if the Gamache will have been MARQUIS de Gamache you can be sure we will be still carrying that name after so many years...specially my 3 aunts that are pretty old and single...

one more thing. in the case of Vezina Gamache/ M Delima Brulotte some people for his ancestor are naming him as a Gamasse....no reference to NICOLAS and Jacqueline Cadot.. WHO IS RIGHT IN THAT CASE?

please get something going on the board about this topic..

thank you

Odile Gamache
