After reading your msg to the young Ian which the great grand father family live in Toronto Canada in 1901, now I agreed that the Gamache which the ancestor is Nicolas from France and the Gammage are two different line, your line is from England then.

Nicolas was born in 1636 in France.

One day I will read the msgs on the Gammage board then I will understand better...

Good luck in your genealogy... It is so much work but bring so much proudness also to find our roots.
