Hello all: Does anyone know anything about the Gamage family reunion that is usually held in September or October there in Americus, Georgia?
I would appreciate hearing from any and everyone that has information. I remember that there was Don Gamage that ran a Gamage/or Gammage Print Shop.
Thanks for your help/or reply!!!

Hi, My husband's mother was a Gammage so I have done some research on the family. I have the address and phone number of Earl & Barbara Gammage who have a print shop in Americus, Ga. We met them 2 years age.

Gammage Print shop, 109 La Mar St., Americus, Ga 31709
Phone no. 1-800-221-6419

We haven't heard of a reunion in Americus. If you find out about a reunion we would like to know.

Irene Brown, Mrs. Albert L Brown

My husband's family have a reunion the first weekend of March. We meet in the house his G.Grandfather buiilt. It's neat.

Our line is George B., Monroe E.and Georga Pauline. They lived near Pineview, Ga.

If I can be of any more help let me know.

Hi Frances,

I think you speak of Dan Gammage, that ran the print shop in Americus, he is my dad. His brother Earl still runs the shop but Dad is "retired" (still working some as a hunting guide at a gamelands in Henderson GA. My mom, coincidentally, just told me 15 minute, that Mrs. Fennessey, isn't planning the reunion this year, but is open to anyone else doing it. Her son Michael and his family are also still in Americus, he's a judge (maybe retired, I'll be glad to ask my mom). I respond to Peggy who also had questions in response to your post.

Sorry that I am so late responding to your post. I just now saw it, since I am researching the Johnson side of my family (grandmother Mary Lou Johnson Gammage, mother of Dan).

Are you from Terrell County or Moultrie area? I knew we had relatives down that way.

Hi Peggy,

I saw in your reply 5o Frances that you had met my aunt and uncle in Americus. I've looked for you Texas Gammage on this site without luck and was happy to find you. I've included my response to her post below.

I worked at the Print Shop alot when I was younger. I would like to touch base with some of the family in Texas that would come through Americus, and stop in to see us.

Feel free to forward my email address to any Gammages that you know. My maiden name was Lu Anne Gammage. I hope to hear back from you.

Here is the post to Frances:

I just read your message about the Gammage reunion.

We met your Uncle Earl at the print shop in in either 2001 or 2002.

We didn't know about the Americus reunion and would probably have gone to it. Al's brother Bill lives in Hawkinsville. He probably would go too. Also a cousin Bobby Gammage lives in Jacksonville, Fl. and might be interested also. So if you hear anything more on a reunion let me know.

We didn't go to the Texas reunion this year because I had had surgery the first of June. We hope to go to the next year. It's a great reunion and you would probably like it too.

I will forward your email on to my contact in Texas. Elizabeth Jenkins.

You didn't say where you live. We live in a small town close to Greenville, SC.

If I can be of any help to you let me know.

Peggy

Hi Lu: Good to hear from you; I'm from the Gammage's in SE Alabama. My great grandparents were: James Alsey Gammage and Mary Dunn Gammage that lived in the area above Andalusia (Covington County) Alabama. My grandfather Charles Beauregard Gammage was their oldest son; he married Edna Elizabeth Bozeman Gammage and they had 12 children, my father being the oldest. He and William's grandfather William were brothers. I think you have e-mailed with William several times.
My father was: James Chestley Gammage and married Vera Frances Hughes Gammage and they had 7 children; me being the youngest. I am the only surviving sibling.
One of my Dad's sisters, Georgie Gammage Jeffcoat is 94 years old and lives with her daughter in PA right now; she's not able to live by herself.
My husband and I came up to Americus several years ago, to the reunion and got to meet several of your relatives.
Did you say you were wanting to go to one of the Texas reunions? William has gone to a couple and I'm sure he can tell you the place and the date of the one this summer.
I'll be in touch with you again soon; take care!!!

Maybe you will be able to assist me with my search. I am searching for the family of John Gamage, born Jan. 08, 1860 in Dawson, GA. Married Clarissa Mike at her hoe in Terrell, GA., in Jan of 1882. Attempting to connect him to the Lindsey family.

hi, looks like the only Lindsey that a book I have on William, Thomas and Solomon Gammage shows a Mary Lindsey as wife of William M Shivers, their daughter Vera Shivers mar William Brooks Gammage 1919 at Macon, Bibb County, GA. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, as you mention the Gammage with 1 "m" Gamage. But hope this might help.
