Hi Elayne - Your husband is right - all Gammage's, especially those who were in GA, are cousins. See if you can find out any more about where the family may have lived. Is he related to Arnold Charles "Chum" Gammage who lives in Los Angeles area? I really know more information about the earlier lines. Some we were not able to contact when we did the book, so a lot of info has been missing on the younger generations. Hope to hear from you with more information. Peg pgordon7@gte.net

My G.G.Grandfather was a member of the 4th Arkansas Infantry during the War of Northern Aggression. In researching his history we found (and now have a copy of) a book written by Dr. W.L. Gammage. Its title is "The Camp, The Bivouac, and the Battlefield". It is a really rare book - I searched years before I found a copy (actually a reprint from 1935).

Linda, did you ever get any help on this? Wondering if you have been able to go backward in time with this. Will wait for your response. Or you can contact me at my email address as shown in Ancestry.com.

William.

Linda,
I was working on your GG Grandmothers tree. I am related. Could you write me at
Charlietheman@yahoo.com. I saw that she is buried in Oakwood and her daughter.
I am trying to find her death certificate to really see who her Mother could be. I know
that Thomas Towns Gammage married twice. I am related to your GG Grandmothers
sister Lucretia Gammage Evans. I hope to hear from you.
