Yes I founded something but I don't remember because that was almost 3 years ago. I need to look in my school notes.

What I remember now is that Gama come originally from a region in Spain and they moved to Portugal. At the colonization time in Mexico the Gamas came to Mexico, to the Area og Michoacan State. I don't remember nuch about it.

Thanks

Hi my birth name is Ceasar Gama i was born in Colombia 1972. I was adpoted by a Dutch Family, and on 24th October 1973 i arrived in Holland. In 1996 I went back to colombia to find my bio mother and family. I found them and they live in a village called "El Collegio" 50km out of Bogota. My Father lives still in Bogota. so My family of Gama's live in this surrounding.

I have read your history in my schoolbooks long time ago, i can't remember what the year was of the migration to Mexico. Although I do recall that the Gama family moved inward Mexico and South america to work in the plantations.

To find out more, I suggest to you to contact Colombia and Mexico authorities to give you information about this migration.

Due to my adoption my name is now Diederik Howeler.
God Bless

The Gama's originate in the today Minho northern province in Portugal where it is still today a predominant surname. In addition to normal population moves in the peninsula, there's a particular spanish town (Olivenca) that was a Gama town (the castle was given to a Gama was the town was taken from the Moors) when it was a Portuguese town. Due to proximity and historical reasons (Portucale kingdom was part of Galicia in the XI centurury) the name can also be found in Galicia province of Spain. As such you may have an european descendence that can either be Portuguese or Spanish. The colonies natives also adopted european surnames with no relation at all to the family surname.
