This happen to my mother Irene Grace Galambos.
Her parents were from Hungary & Grandpa 'opa' Andrew Galambos raised by his grandmother after his mother died...he could not get along with his stepmother named Balough & was naturalized in Punxsatauney(sp?) County Pennsylvania. He was born in Kisvarda Hungary & Grandmother Julia Sabo Antolfy(fi) Galambos was from Kumero, Hungary.
Grandmother brought her parents to the US when in Pennsylvania & they are burried there.
Punxsatauney, Pennsylvania is the home of
the famous Ground Hog Day
Mother Irene was born in MacIntyre(sp?) County , Pennsylavania. My mother's older sisters & one brother were born in a coal mining town called coal run & later lived in a place called Riverside outside of Morgantown,West Virginia. Riverside washed into the Monongahila River or at least the part that my Grandmother lived at. The old abandoned school was still on the mountaintop with a rusty water well pump outside & an old crabapple tree when I was ther in the 70's.The floors fell thru to the ground.
The Galambos family moved to Manville NJ either before the depression when my mother Irene was 4 years old.
Mom is now 87 and as the last surviving sibling is entitled to file a land claim in Hungary for relatives land stolen by the communists after WWII. This land claim is true for any family after the 1990's when the communists were expelled. Grandmaother said she married poor & I found a Baron Von Antolfy(fi)at Mideavil Times slavic heraldry & coats of arms library. The castle is still there in Hungary.
Honestly Yours, Raymond Micheal(Galambos-Houston)Miller,Jr.
