Hi My name is Kim Hamilton, maiden name is Gaiewski. I am searching for Gaiewski/Gajewski ancestors who immigrated from Russia/Poland. My Grandfather..Aleksander Gajewski was born in Mokrylas,Russia, and he immigrated to Baltimore Md. where he settled in Reading,Berks County,Pa. He married Stella Golombek and they had several children. I do know that a Jan Gajewski is listed as a friend record of his immigrating to the U.S.A.,and also a Vicenty Gajewski is listed as family that remained in his home country on the passenger list of the Brandenburg that he sailed on in Nov 1912. I am seeking anyone with any information on him or his siblings, parents names, and any info on his birthplace. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get on my research of my grandparents. Please contact me at: Faerietwin57@gmail.comThanks,Kim Gaiewski Hamilton

Gajewski's et al, I am a Gayeski from Nanticoke/Wilkes Barre/Scranton area and am told our name used to be Gajewski. My grandfather was Eddie Gayeski, the coach of the Northwest basketball team, and son of Charles Gayeski. My grandmother, Genevieve (Malishewski) Gayeski was daughter of John Malishewski and Elizabeth Kowalski. I also have Ignatz Grajewski and Anna Niedziejko in my tree circa 1900-1950 who settled on a farm in Shickshinny after coal mining. I know my grandfather Eddie had many brothers and sisters... eleven maybe.
Any of these names sound familiar to other PA Gayeski/Gajewski's?

My Great Uncle was named John Gajewski. My Great Grandfather was Adalbert George Gajewski and immigrated to Ohio. He had two sons and four daughters, likely one son would have been named John as well. I don't know if his family immigrated to Pennsylvania or not, or if they are brothers or not, since John is so common. There is very good information about the marriages of the Gajewski's at the Posen Project site. You can Google it and it is simple to use. I suggest you search there. I have attached one page of a letter John Gajewski sent to my Great Grandfather. You can see the signature. John in the letter is spelled Jan in Polish. I would be happy to explore with you what we both may know to see if there is a match or not.
