My ancesters, named Gajdos, settled in Maltby, PA near Hazelton. Their first child was baptized on Oct 4, 1896 in the above-mentioned church and town. I cannot locate either--can anyone help. Thanks.

This is probably Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Swoyersville, Pa. Evidently that town used to be called Maltby. My grandmother is buried in the cemetery there. Her obituary said that her services were at the church at Maltby in 1916.

Surnames: Foczko, Fosko, Rusznak, Rusnak, Gajdos, Gaydos
When was the baptized child born, and what was his name? My great-granduncle Joseph E. Gajdos was born on January 6, 1896, to Michael and Katherine Yzchinski Gajdos. The Gajdoses used variations of their surname: Gidosh, Gajdos, Gaydos, Guidist, Gindirt, Gydos, and Gaydosh. Great-Granduncle Joseph's oldest brother (since all the brothers were younger than him) was Michael "Mickey" Gaydos, and Mickey used Surname Variants 2, 3, and 7.

Mickey married Mary A. Rusnak, the daughter of Andrew and Julia Foczko (Fosko) Rusznak (Rusnak), from Swoyersville, PA; and had five children, my grandmother being the third child and daughter. Great-Granddad Gaydos apparently outlived Great-Granduncle Joseph; and was survived by Great-Grandma, Grandma and her siblings, Great-Grandaunts Mary (Drank) and Adela, and Great-Granduncle Stephen.
