I have in my family tree a Maria Gajan (who died in 1948) was married to a Michael Vikartovszky (1740-1820, died age 80). We know they had 3 children: Joannes Vikartovszky (born 1800), Maria (born 1802) and Anna (born 1807), and maybe more, earlier or later. A family member who looked this up for me said there were a "few" Maria Gajans listed. Does that mean she had a few husbands? idk or does that mean she had cousins with the same familiar name of Maria? could be. Could it mean she was not the first wife of Michael, idk. What I do know is that my Vikartovszky family did come from (Iglo) Hungary which is now located in (Spisska Nova Ves) Slovakia. Our Vikartovsky family was located in Mt. Pleasant, PA (near Greensburg).
Family members tell me Maria had red hair. Red hair comes from more Ireland than from Scotland. And earlier than that red hair was prevalent among the Celts. Red hair runs in our Vikartovsky family. My sister and her son, my uncle and his daughter, and further down the line Maria Gajan.
