Julia,
We are related! I have all this info you provided in your post in my family tree that I have been researching for a few years now. Your grandmother Julia had a sister and 2 brothers- Elizabeth, John and Joseph. Joseph Gerek was my grandfather. Joseph's daughter Marylou talked about visiting your grandparents in the Bronx, NY. She was close with Grace. Please contact me! I have a ton of info for you on your grandmother's side- the Gereks!

My dada has a good amount of knowledge of the family genealogy. He is the son of Joseph and I am his oldest son. Perhaps we can try to arrange a teleconference to sort this all out!

Thomas,
You are from the Gegeny family and I am from the Gerek family. Julia Gerek was married to James Gegeny in Bronx, NY. Julia is my great aunt. I would like to speak with Julia Gegeny who posted these messages, but her posting of wanting to know family history was 10 years ago! Don't know if she is still interested and I have no way to contact her. Do you? You seem like you would be a relative from her father's father side. I am a relative from her father's mother side.
Best, Julie

Unfortunately I do not have any contact with Julia Gegeny, daughter of James Gegeny. She is a second cousin of mine, but we have not been in touch and she is likely married now (name change?). Ironically, my youngest brother, Joseph, married a woman named Julia, so if you come across a "Julia Gegeny" on Facebook, etc -- it may be a different person.
