Hello, Ms Gagen, My GGF Fergus Gagen, married Ann, or Anna Smith, and located in Scioto Cty, Ohio. They had 12 children, 8 girls and 4 boys. I know very little of Fergus and Ann, but my grandmother was one of the girls. The family traveled to Perry County, Franklin, Summit, and others. If you know of gagens on Ohio, or other states, I would be most happy to share your interest. Regards, Chas Judy

I spoke w/ my father (son of MAry Alice Gagen), who said that John Gagen died in a riot concerning a union strike. Are your Gagens also from PA?

Thanks, Samantha. Don't know much about The family before Fergus Gagen came to Ohio. Story had it that Fergus and Ann Smith were married at the catherdal of Pittsburgh, then came to Ohio, Scioto Cty, OH and lived and raised their children at Otway. I have nothing much more on Fergus, and am trying to find his earlier connections through the siblings connections of his and Ann's generation. Am going to Pittsburgh this week, and stopping at the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh archives. They will research Gagen for me in their catheradal records. I haven't found much in the census records. He shows on OH 1880. I shall let you know if I find anything. Regards Chas Judy
