My grandfather, John Gagel, emigrated to the US around 1870 from the Mecklinburg area orf Germany. I have never been able to find any of his family or family data. If you have any information along these lines I would appreciate hearing from you.

3 Gagel brothers immigrated from Germany to Jefferson County, Kentucky...this particular John was my mother's maternal great grandfather & I know where he's buried...if you think it's the same man, contact me, I have pictures of him as a young man & old man.

Is Emma Snawder... Florence Emma Snawder (1870-1939) who's parents were John Anderson Snawder (1846-1916) and Mary Ellen Risinger (1846-1929)? I've no information on her siblings or even children for her. I have that she married John Gagel (1855-1937). It was his second marriage and he already had three children from his first wife.

Have you collected the family death notices for John Gagel? I've indexed them in the collection "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items". It covers 1844-1950. There are also multiple entries for a Charles Gagel who may've died in an accident of some sort.

There are also several Dorn and Dohrn entries found in the index.

Contact me for the full entry from my index or more information.
