Hi Angi,

Thank you for the helpful offer. I have not spent much time on my Gaffey's but when I do, I come up empty. I have been looking for:

Bryan(t) Gaffey, b. abt 1820 in Ireland; m. after 1848 in MA to Margaret Carr, b. 1825 Ireland, d. 8/1891 IN.

Their daughter, Julia Ann Gaffey (5th of 8 children), b. 4/1858 IN, d. after 1920; m. abt 1884 to Thomas Clifford Hurley, b. 11/1853 IN, d. before 1910.

They had 4 children that I know of and the 3rd was my grandmother: Florence, Blanche, Grace, and Raymond, all born in IN.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Hello,
We are related. The photograph of George and Mary's 50th Wedding Anniversary is sitting in my mother's and great- aunt's dining rooms. Margaret Gaffee was my Grandmother and Clarice is my Great-Aunt. I have found all your information really useful. If you are interested Clarice is married to Frank and has 2 daughters and 1 grandson and still alive, living on the south coast. Margaret (died nearly 5 years ago) married Douglas and had a daughter and son and had 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons and 3 great grandchildren all living in Berkshire.

Dear Karen,

Thank you for your e-mail. As you mention you have been researching your family history for numerous years. My husband, my father-in-law and myself have been tirleessly researching the "Gaffee" family line for ten years and have come across many dead ends.

Some years ago we meet up with some of your family, who kindly gave us a copy of this picture. When I started to create the "Gaffee" family tree on Ancestry, I was hoping it would help to join together all the missing links, by adding the post and the photos.

My father-in-law has never known any other Gaffee relatives as his Grandfather, Frank (George's brother) died in 1918 before he was born and his own father never really mentioned any family. I suppose I have made it my quest to try and rectify this for him as I find it hard to believe that after 78 years on this planet he has never known a cousin or aunt/uncle.

My father-in-law, Tony is extremely excited to hear that somebody on the photo is still alive and has so many questions. Could you please tell me who was Margaret & Clarice's father was as it will make it easier for him to grasp.

Please do keep in touch.

Kind regards
Angi

Hi Angi
Frank's brother George Henry had a son called William Sidney and he was the father of Margaret and Clarice.
The unknown man in the top row of George and Mary's photo was called Raymond, he was not a blood relative but was adopted into the family, we are unsure whether this was an official arrangement or not.
Great to get in touch.
Regards
Karen

Hi, this message is for Keccles196. I hope i'm not being a nuisance, but I saw in the private member tree section that you have an Albert E. Turtell in your family tree. Albert E. was my wifes' great uncle and I cannot find him after 1929. I realise that you have asked not to be contacted but I really am stuck. Can you help. Kind regards, Dave Isaacs
